Pete Zahut: Good god man, you make us look bad. Good for you, all the

lown Mylife: I also cleaned houses, JW janitor. I can be thankful for
that (being a JW), i learn how to clean. LOL
stan: When i was single and women came over they would say
poor guy, he needs help. That worked until my wife now put her foot down and
told me to clean my own damn house. That may work with other women but not we me.
So that's why I'm doing floors today.

Being in a cult - what good did it do?
by Garrett inso, here's a bit of a different point of view.
while most of us will agree that our time within the jw cult was rather terrible, however, i'd like to look at another aspect.
did anything good come out of being in a cult and then waking up from it?.

Ignoranceisbliss" "I feel that those that thrive in Dubland probably would of done
even better without it" I have thought about that, what if. I became a JW as an adult
so my kids were born in. Even as a JW we made sure our kids got into the best schools,
as a family we did things as a family. I came from a very close knitted family, great parents.
Like most of the folks that came in around the 60's and 70's we wanted the best for
our kids. If I had never had kids I never would have become a JW, if that make sense.

Speaking for my kids, especially my sons, living in a community saturated
with gangs (bloods, crips) activities it helped in keeping them out of those gangs.
Once the gang member realized they were JW's they left them alone. I guess they(gangs)
figured if you are raised a JW your life is worst then ours, you are really screwed.LOL

There is a sense of comfort to have others think for you. -

When you have been able to come to grips with difficulties from your past
life then the feeling that you need protection and shelter will not be a part
of your life. As some people seek the apparent comfort and guidance offered
by cults, developing emotional strength, self esteem and a strong sense of
identity will help you avoid being drawn into another harmful sect.
